Report from Wonderfest 2009: Part 2

Another Wonderfest has come and gone along with all of its assorted accouterments that make this show truly unique in the scale modeling universe. The highlite of the show for me was having space modeling buddy Rob Schorry visit from Cincinnatti to Louisville for a few hours. We were able to touch base with Jay Chaladek and learn about projects he is involved with.

The contest itself sported 501 entries! Modelers from as far away as Japan showed and entered pieces. Below are a few photos made yesterday at the show. Enjoy!

The huge Polar Lights Star Trek movie Enterprise with open shuttle bay. This beauty won gold!

A close up of the 1/32 scale Special Hobby X-15. This won a bronze!

An outstanding build-up of the newly release 1/72 Area 51 UFO by Pegasus Hobbies. This won a silver metal.

Rob and Jay. Jay won a metal for a beautiful Fine Molds Millenium Falcon.

A gold metal winner!

All in all it was another nice show! If any of you are "multi-task" models that dabble in sci-fi this is certainly the premire model show in the country. Just be prepared for fun and a dose of "weirdness" mixed in!
